Motivation for marriage

Interesting attempts to consider the “mechanisms” of the origin of love experiences. Thus, the most famous approach of Otto Weininger, who believed that the differentiation of the sexes, their separation is never completely complete. All the features of the male sex can be found, even in the weakest development, and in the female sex. You can use the concepts of the ideal man “M” and the ideal woman ” W ” only as typical sexual forms. “The law of sexual attraction”, formulated by FR. According to Weininger, ” to connect the sexes, a perfect man “M” and a perfect woman “W” are needed, although they are separated in two different individuals in completely different combinations.” The author of this theory believed that the existence of the institution of marriage is due to the fact that the presence of a huge number of intermediate stages allows you to find two individuals who are most suitable for each other (Weininger O., 1990, p. 12). Problems of a young family

Most psychologists and sociologists who study family relations emphasize the importance of the initial period of family development (Matskovsky, M. S., Kharchev, A. G., 1978; Sysenko, V. A., 1981; Dementieva, I. F., 1991; Trapeznikova, T. M., 1988; Richardson, R., 1994; Grebennikov, I. F., 1991, etc.). “Like all living things, the family is the weakest at the moment of origin” (Yurkevich N. G., 1971, p. 88).

In Russian psychology, as a rule, the periodization of family development, proposed by V. A. Sysenko (1981, 1989), is used. According to this periodization, the term “young family” is understood quite broadly – “very young marriages” – from 0 to 4 years of experience and “young marriages” from 5 to 9 years. Marriage and its consequences

The importance of a marriage ceremony not only for a young couple, but for the whole family is becoming more obvious as more and more young people refuse this ceremony. Rituals that may seem superfluous to young people can be important dividing signs of stages that help all participants make the transition to new ways of their relationship. In most cultures, ceremonies that accompany birth, puberty, marriage, and death are protected because they are considered essential in stabilizing life.

Whatever the relationship of the couple during the courtship period preceding the marriage, the marriage ceremony unpredictably changes the nature of this relationship. For many couples, the “honeymoon” and their time together before children are born is full of charm. Continue reading
